Over the years, we have build the physical strength and fortitude through our asana practice and also seen its benefits in real life. That’s the beauty of the Iyengar practice when you cannot ‘run away’ from the unpleasant sensations and yet also not always being ‘drawn’ to the easy. Steady, steadfast, done safely.
But beyond that, some may have also developed a certain detachment towards these difficulties or happiness we face. we cope with difficulties through dispassion/ pushing away / blocking/distractions. an ase path. extremes are not necessarily beneficial cos when suppression rears its ugly head, it leads to disappointment and people dropping from the path.
Henceforth, in 2025, working steadily beyond yamas, niyamas, asana; towards pranayama, pratyhara… and eventually samadhi.
As jack kornfeld says, we are not enlightenment. we are but moments of enlightenment, may these moments of enlightenment , of being a witness to all those fluctuations of mind, senses, material desires , form and name.. become one continuous thread moment to moment, of enlightened awareness.
Focusing on similarities between each being /body instead of differences. observing but watch the mind start its comparisons and duality…. and laugh at it.
With tapas (discipline) so one HAS to show up in class, or have a daily practice; with love and support from fellow beings, grateful for another year of healthy body to practice, to observe, to fail, to laugh, get up and try again…
have a wonderful inner yoga journey 🙏🏻
love to everyone 🙏🏻🩷❤️ cos you are extensions of ‘I’ in different forms
